Recording of WindBag Documentary | Studio
Hillary: “We recorded WindBag right after the holidays—at the end of December 2023. It all came together really well. We tracked four songs in two days, and, honestly, it couldn’t have gone more perfectly. The whole setup was this cabin-looking place out in the middle of the Poconos. It’s easy to drive right by and not realize you’re passing this high-end studio. You’d think it was just a house!”
Brenton: “Yeah, Sound Mind has that unassuming look on the outside, but inside, it’s a whole different world. I’ve mixed some pretty big records there, so I knew it would be a great place to record. And we got lucky since I could handle both drumming and engineering for the EP. That place is special.”
Mike: “I didn’t know what to expect walking in. The studio has this funhouse vibe—room after room, and each one’s a bit of a surprise. You go into the main room, and boom! Everything’s painted this wild red, guitars all over the walls, a baby grand piano just waiting there… you get this sense that it’s made for letting loose and experimenting.”
Shane: “It was definitely set up for creativity. We got a bunch of pizza, cranked out tunes, and it was just one of those moments that you remember. The studio had everything we needed to make the most of it.”
Hillary: “Totally. And Brenton being both on drums and behind the board really helped pull it all together. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot to record WindBag.”
