Mike:
Hey, happy Tuesday, everyone! Welcome to the Bellwether Ritual live stream. We’re gonna give people a chance to jump in, and if you’re watching on replay, you can skip ahead about two minutes to get right into the interview. Let me get things set up on Instagram too…

Alright, we are live on Instagram as well!

Mike:
Alright, let’s get this started. Welcome, everyone, to the Bellwether Ritual live stream where we discuss music, the local Lehigh Valley scene, and everything in between—especially today: bands, social media, and more. It is Tuesday, August 20th, and my name is Mike. I’m the guitarist and vocalist for Bellwether Ritual. I hope you all had a great week! Just a quick reminder to please like, subscribe, and share if you like what we do here, and always go out and support your local musicians. It’s the best way to meet other people and network in the scene.

Now, tonight, we have two very special guests joining us. We have Brenna and Aarón from Crystal Spiders. They’re a band out of North Carolina blending classic rock and heavy metal dynamics, psychedelic textures, and some doomed-out bluesy swing. They’ll be performing at Ripple Fest in Texas next month and have a show with [ __ ] in Raleigh, North Carolina, on October 16th. Plus, they’re working on their third album for Ripple Music in the studio right now. We’ll talk about all that and more.

So, Brenna and Aarón, welcome to the stream! How are you both doing tonight?

Brenna:
Thank you so much for having us! We’re excited to be here.

Aarón:
Yeah, thanks a lot, Mike! We’re doing great, just hanging out and really looking forward to chatting with you tonight.

Mike:
Of course! It’s awesome to have you here. Let’s kick things off. Is there anything you want to plug right off the top? I know you’ve got a lot going on—shows, music, all sorts of stuff. Let everyone know where they can find your music and where you’re playing next!

Brenna:
Yeah, absolutely! We’re pretty active on social media, so you can find us on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube—you name it, we’re on there! We also have our music up on Spotify and Apple Music. So anywhere you can listen to music, you should be able to find us.

Aarón:
And we’ve got a link tree in our Instagram bio that has links to all our music, ticket sales for shows, and any other updates. Don’t forget our Bandcamp too, where we sell our merch, and the Ripple Music shop, where you can grab our vinyl and other goodies.

Mike:
Yeah, I was checking out some of the album artwork today—pretty cool looking stuff. I saw some purple vinyl, kind of splatter style… what do you call that?

Brenna:
Oh, it’s definitely splatter! You got it right the first time. It’s just that classic splatter design. Pretty eye-catching, huh?

Mike:
Yeah, it looks great! Definitely adds to the whole vibe of the music. Alright, so you mentioned that you’re in the studio, and I know you’ve got some amazing shows coming up. Let’s talk about the two Ripple Fests and the Horror Show. What’s going on with those?

Aarón:
Yeah! We’ve been working with Ripple Music pretty much since our inception.

Brenna:
So, our first two albums, Mt and Morieris, both came out on Ripple Music, and it’s been an amazing experience with them. I actually have another band, Lightning Born, which is also on Ripple, so we’re Ripple family through and through. We just got back from playing two of the European Ripple Fests—one in Berlin and one in Cologne. That was incredible, and now we’re super excited to have been asked to play Ripple Fest Texas next month.
