New Record Update
New Record Update! Bellwether Ritual is deep in the creative trenches, hard at work on the band’s next full-length record. The sessions are underway at Riverton Records in Mt. Bethel, PA, where the band has been steadily building the follow-up to their 2023 EP WindBag. With the studio surrounded by the quiet woods of the Delaware River valley, the setting provides the perfect atmosphere for heavy riffs, haunting melodies, and the doom-soaked spirit that defines Bellwether Ritual.
The band is currently about 60% finished with tracking. Each member has been pouring their energy into bringing this new material to life:
- Brenton is wearing two hats, both behind the drum kit and behind the mixing board. As the group’s drummer and in-house audio engineer, he’s been shaping the sound of the record from the inside out.
- Hilary has been locking down the low end with her Sandberg 48 bass while layering in backing and lead vocals that cut through with both precision and emotion.
- Steve, the band’s newest guitarist, is making his mark by weaving in soaring riffs and atmospheric textures that add fresh colors to the Bellwether Ritual sound.
- Mike is bringing the songs together with powerful vocals and guitar work, keeping the band’s signature balance of heaviness and melody at the forefront.
The new album promises to push the band further into their unique Doom-Wop territory — blending the heaviness of stoner and doom metal with the strange beauty of psychedelic and classic rock influences.
While no official release date has been set, the progress so far has been steady and inspired. With four musicians deeply invested in the process, Riverton Records has become a crucible where raw ideas are being forged into songs that carry both weight and atmosphere.
Fans can expect updates as the band moves closer to the finish line, with more studio photos, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and eventually the announcement of the album’s title and release plans.
